Pastors and friends are invited to attend the 2014 Asian American Baptist Churches Alliance Convocation and ABHMS/Asian  Conference on August 5-7 at the First Baptist Church in Glendale, CA (209 N. Louise Street, Glendale, CA 91206).   ABC of LA & Congregations of the Southwest and Hawaii is also partnering with us to support this event.   A local planning team led by Rev. Kenneth Kho, Rev. Dennis Caseje and Rev. Ricky Lai of the region are working diligently to offer local transportation, meal arrangements, family fun packages and many other logistics.

As the Asian Alliance taking a new form expanding from the Asian Caucus into a fellowship body of mission and ministries, they are ready to share their exciting forward thinking vision with everyone.   There will be innovated ideas, fellowship & fun through talent shows, and creative business sessions.   More so, Rev. Dr. Ken Fong, a national well known speaker and senior pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles will be the speaker to lead the affirming and challenging issues of Asian American Christians and communities.  Rev. Marie Onwubuariri, the first Asian American woman called to be the executive minister of ABC of Wisconsin, as preacher in an uplifting multicultural worship.   And then a commissioning to affirm her service and two other faithful ABHMS national coordinator for the Burma diaspora community in the U.S., Rev. Dr. Saw Ler Htoo and Pastor Ronald Charles Nunuk.

A series of workshops on: Asian American Theology and Ministries; Intercultural Ministries; Immigration Reform; Advocacy Training for Burma; Understanding Asian American Millennium; Affordable Higher Education & Scholarship Searching; Women Voices & Wisdom; Mission Engagement; and Worship & Arts are being offered by a wide variety of dynamic leaders.  Most important of all, amid the fellowship and ministries sharing, you will enter into a spirit tuning with God through personal reflection and prayers.

For some of us, summer is a time of soul repairs, family binding; and for others, summer is an opportunity for mission, discipleship or _______.  Whatever your summer will be, I urge you to look into this gathering in sunny California!   Attached are the conference information along with the registration form, scholarship application and Asian Alliance’s travel subsidy form.   The conference is open to anyone who loves the Lord and so, please feel free to share it with multi ethnic groups and friends.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rev. Florence Li -  Florence.Li@abhms.org  or Rev. Moa Chen- moaimchen68@yahoo.com.
